One unit buys one system, another unit buys something else, data doesn’t connect, training doesn’t match, and nobody has the authority to force integration. Say you’re a civilian in a city that’s been hit before. You don’t care who gets credit for a program. You care whether warning time improves, whether false alarms go down, whether air defense has a clearer picture. Or say you’re a soldier at a checkpoint at night. You don’t need a perfect solution. You need a working one that tells you what’s coming, early enough to react, without crying wolf every ten minutes. Leadership choices upstream shape whether those realities improve or stay stuck.
So yes, this dismissal might be justified. But it’s not “just a reshuffle.” It’s a bet. It’s a bet that Ukraine can keep pushing a fast-moving drone and digital strategy without the person most publicly tied to it—and that the next leadership won’t quietly trade speed for comfort.
