European firms showcase and scale compact UAV laser-designation systems citing Ukraine battlefield use

European companies at the Eurosatory exhibition in Paris promoted compact laser-designation solutions for small UAVs, citing demand driven by Ukraine’s war needs. Aktyvus Photonics said it is tripling production of its ultra-compact UAV laser-designation systems, and Threod Systems unveiled its Eos D ISTAR VTOL drone, noting operator feedback and training activity in Ukraine.
