Reports describe drone attacks on Ecuadorian fishing boats in the Pacific in early 2026

A post citing a New York Times investigation claims Ecuadorian fishing vessels were attacked or harassed using drones in the Pacific Ocean in January and March 2026. One vessel (Fiorella) disappeared after reporting drones and other pursuing assets, and two other boats were reportedly attacked and their crews detained and later handed to Salvadoran military.
