Ukrainian Air Force reports daytime Shahed drone attack on Ukraine, main direction Kyiv region

Ukraine's Air Force reported that on 18 August 2026, Russia attacked Ukraine during daytime hours with 76 Shahed-type jet UAVs, primarily targeting Kyiv region. Air defenses reportedly shot down or suppressed over 70 drones, with some impacts and debris falls recorded at several locations; additional drones entered after 18:30.
