BAE Systems revealed Brontanax, an operational prototype collaborative combat aircraft (loyal wingman) for the UK RAF’s new Storm Fighter CCA program. It is intended for EW, precision strike, and air-to-air roles with an internal weapons bay compatible with current RAF weapons, and is being prepared for ground and flight testing with potential NATO exercise participation in 2027. The novelty is the rapid emergence of a UK-designed, stealthy CCA prototype aimed at manned-unmanned teaming with Typhoon/F-35/Tempest concepts.
