BETA Technologies unveiled the MV250, a hybrid-electric VTOL uncrewed heavy-lift cargo aircraft derived from its ALIA platform, aimed at contested logistics, medevac, and ISR. Novel elements include hybrid-electric propulsion for potentially reduced IR/acoustic signature and long endurance, integration of Sikorsky MATRIX autonomy, and side-mounted tubes to deploy air-launched effects (small drones/loitering munitions), plus use as a forward tactical power source (up to 500 kW). While not yet flown, it signals a push toward autonomous VTOL resupply and multi-role “cargo mothership” concepts.
