Dutch Navy to field Destinus Hornet B2 interceptor drones for ship C-UAS

The Royal Netherlands Navy plans to integrate Destinus Hornet B2 kinetic interceptor drones on multiple warships as a lower-cost alternative to missile-based air defense against mass drone threats. The system uses a canister/rocket-booster launch, then transitions to electric cruise and EO/IR sensing with AI-based terminal processing to intercept one-way attack UAVs. This reflects a shift toward scalable, drone-on-drone naval air defense to address cost-exchange and saturation problems.
