Helsing 'Contra' low-cost interceptors with AI-managed drone defense

Germany’s Helsing unveiled the Contra concept: two new interceptor missiles (jet-powered AD-1 “Inferno” and rocket-powered AD-2 “Ambush”) paired with AI software to automatically plan and sequence intercepts against fast Geran-class drones. The novelty is a purpose-built, supposedly sub-$100k-per-shot, mass-producible interceptor family optimized for high-speed Shahed/Geran variants and containerized salvo launches with AI fire-control to handle swarms economically.
