HUR reports Geran-4 upgrade with optical nav, magnetometer, and new warhead

Ukraine’s HUR says Russia has begun using a new Geran-4 variant featuring added autonomous navigation layers: a magnetometer-assisted inertial module to reduce gyro drift and an optical correlation navigation system (“Susanin”) that matches onboard imagery to reference images. The update also includes a new shaped-charge cutting warhead (KRSN) optimized for severing bridge elements and power-line supports, plus a localized Russian-made turbojet replacing a Chinese Telefly engine—improving resilience under GPS/EW pressure and tailoring effects against infrastructure.
