Hydis selects solid-rocket concept for European hypersonic interceptor

Europe’s Hydis program validated a final interceptor concept to counter hypersonic glide vehicles and maneuvering ballistic threats, centered on a solid-propellant rocket motor and a terminal-phase kill vehicle with an IR seeker. The novelty is the maturation and integration of specific subsystems (propulsion architecture, terminal IR sensor, stage control, and Mk41 naval launcher integration) into a coherent endo-atmospheric counter-hypersonic interceptor concept.
