Lockheed Martin revealed the PAC-3 Edge, a new Patriot-family interceptor intended to outperform the PAC-3 MSE against advanced ballistic and hypersonic threats. Novel elements highlighted include a new seeker (possibly multi/dual-mode), an upgraded control system with more capable attitude control motors, and a new three-pulse solid rocket motor to preserve endgame energy for high-G terminal maneuvers. While not yet fielded (testing planned from 2027, deployment targeted 2031), it signals a significant capability step in Patriot interceptors.
