MBDA HYDIS/AQUILA hypersonic interceptor concept selected for EU-funded development

The post describes the HYDIS program selecting a single AQUILA hypersonic/anti-ballistic interceptor concept and entering a 3-year concept refinement phase toward a European counter-hypersonic weapon system. Novelty is the dedicated endo-atmospheric counter-hypersonic interceptor architecture (solid rocket motor, terminal IR sensor, stage control) and planned integration with MK41 naval launchers and naval/ground sensor suites.
