Northrop unveils Raid Hunter 50mm gun-based air defense with AI targeting

Northrop Grumman is pitching a new 50mm Gun-Based Air Defense system (“Raid Hunter”) using AI targeting and precision-guided 50mm proximity-fuzed ammunition to counter mass aerial threats like drone swarms and cruise missiles. It also highlighted an updated M230LF dual-feed 30mm chain gun that can rapidly switch between proximity-fuzed anti-drone rounds and HE dual-purpose rounds, improving flexibility for mixed targets.
