Rheinmetall unveils GMF 140 frigate design with AEGIS and 64-cell Mk41 VLS

Rheinmetall introduced the GMF 140, a new 140m/6,600t guided-missile frigate concept built around U.S./NATO-standard systems (AEGIS or CMS330, U.S.-sourced radar options, and 64 strike-length Mk 41 VLS cells). The novelty is Rheinmetall’s entry into the frigate market with an export-oriented, integrated air/missile-defense + ASW + long-range strike platform designed for interoperability and future growth (power/space margins for EW and directed-energy).
