The UK Royal Navy conducted first sea trials of a plug-and-play, containerised Role 2 medical module (Medical NavyPODS) that can be embarked on ships lacking organic medical facilities. Novel elements include rapid single-operator deployment of expanding side-pods, a bespoke theatre-grade HVAC/positive-pressure system within a 20-ft container power budget, and a new shock-raft mounting to meet naval shock requirements—enabling faster modular capability fielding across platforms.
