Ukraine declares first domestically made satellite-guided glide bomb combat-ready

Ukraine says it has completed trials and is ready to field its first homegrown guided aerial (glide) bomb: a purpose-built, winged, unpowered munition with satellite guidance and a 250 kg warhead, intended to strike targets dozens of kilometers behind the front. This gives Ukraine a cheaper standoff precision-strike option akin to Russia’s UMPK/FAB approach, potentially easing reliance on scarce Western JDAM-ER and cruise missiles while complicating air defense economics.
