The U.S. Army is soliciting industry proposals for a new low-cost interceptor missile for the Patriot system, targeting a unit cost under $1M and modular components (motor, seeker, guidance/fire control) integrated via existing M903 launchers and IBCS. If fielded, it would materially change Patriot’s cost-per-intercept and allow higher-volume engagements against drones/cruise missiles while easing stockpile and production constraints.
