US Army stands up Indo-Pacific Multi-Domain Command with Cross Domain Contact Layer

The US Army created a new Indo-Pacific multi-domain command structure that merges Stryker formations with cyber, space, unmanned systems and electronic warfare under a single headquarters. Central is the proposed Cross Domain Contact Layer concept to fuse sensors, EW and AI into a continuous network linking drones, precision fires and digital networks across land/air/sea/space/cyber. While largely organizational and conceptual rather than a fielded battlefield system, it signals a doctrinal shift toward integrated multi-domain kill chains and distributed capabilities in contested A2/AD environments.
