U.S. confirms on-orbit space control weapons are deployed

The U.S. Air Force Secretary and Space Force spokesperson publicly confirmed that the U.S. has operational “on-orbit space control weapons” intended to defend the joint force, implying deployed counterspace capabilities in orbit. While no technical details are provided, the admission signals a shift from ambiguity to acknowledged fielding of orbital defensive/offensive systems, potentially including kinetic or non-kinetic effects (e.g., EW/laser).
