US SOCOM fields Avon MITR half-mask and goggle protection system

US Special Operations is adopting and already fielding Avon Protection’s MITR half-mask and goggle system as a lighter, modular alternative to full-face respirators. The novelty is the integrated/separable eye+respiratory protection with positive-pressure sealed, anti-fog cooled goggles aimed at routine exposure hazards (lead dust, toxic chemicals, fentanyl/precursor chemicals) during operations.
