USAF B-52J re-engining with Rolls-Royce F130 clears critical design review

The USAF’s Commercial Engine Replacement Program will replace the B-52H’s TF33 engines with Rolls-Royce F130s, enabling better fuel efficiency, longer range, and more electrical power for modern sensors and weapons. While not a frontline battlefield tactic, it is a significant capability/sustainment modernization that extends bomber operational relevance into the 2050s.
