USAF seeks medium-caliber GBAD guns for base defense vs drones and cruise missiles

The U.S. Air Force issued an RFI for rapidly deployable medium-caliber anti-aircraft gun systems with affordable munitions and integrated sensors to defend overseas bases against UAS and subsonic cruise missiles. The novelty is the USAF moving toward organic ground-based air defense (traditionally an Army role) and prioritizing cost-per-engagement and modular deployability for persistent base defense.
