Germany plans 5G-tower based counter-drone shield with sensors and interceptors

Post claims Rheinmetall and Deutsche Telekom will deploy a “Drohnen-Schutzschild” using mobile towers fitted with RF/passive sensors, Remote ID, drone radars, and software to detect drone-control anomalies in 5G traffic. Rheinmetall would add containerized interceptor drones, lasers, automated turrets, and EW near protected sites, aiming for urban counter-UAS coverage. Novelty is the integration of civilian telecom infrastructure as a distributed detection layer tied to kinetic/EW effectors.
